If you can’t stop yourself from fretting, try scheduling a time for worry or anxiety. “Tell yourself ‘I’m not going to do this right now, but I will think about it tonight from 7:30 to 8 p.m.,’” Sonja Lyubomirsky, Ph.D., author of The How of Happiness: A Scientific Approach to Getting the Life You Want. “ She says quit often by the time your ‘worry appointment’ rolls around you don’t feel theneed to do it any more.”
